The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Course provides suitable training for the first aiders from high risk or larger organisations.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Course Syllabus

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Be able to assess an incident
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Know how to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
  • Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • Be able to conduct a secondary survey
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scaldsBe able to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injuryBe able to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Course Assessment Process

This course is assessed by practical demonstration and oral questioning.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Course Renewal Process

It is strongly recommended that all first aiders undergo an annual ½ day First Aid Refresher Course to keep their skills up to date.After three years learners must undertake a two day Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification Course to keep their First Aid at Work qualification valid.
